REV’s academic scholarship application opens early, encouraging high school seniors to apply before the February 11 deadline

Eligible high school seniors are encouraged to submit their application online for consideration

Gonzales, La. – REV is opening its annual academic scholarship application early for all graduating high school seniors. Eligible seniors residing in REV’s service regions can now begin applying online before the February 11 deadline.

The REV Scholarship program helps students cover college expenses – including tuition, housing, books, and more—throughout their college years, thereby reducing the financial burden that often accompanies a college education.

“We are proud and honored to carry on the 42-year legacy of REV’s commitment to education through our local scholarship program,” said Josh Descant, CEO of REV. “By empowering and investing in the next generation of leaders, we are helping students – building the foundation for a stronger, brighter future for South Louisiana.”

Since its inception in 1984, the REV academic scholarship program has awarded over $1M in financial assistance to 247 local graduating high school seniors. In 2025, REV expanded the scholarship program to include eligible seniors in all service regions, encouraging more students to apply.

“As we continue to grow and serve more local communities, we anticipate even more students applying this year,” said Tressy Leindecker, REV’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. “Our selection committee does a phenomenal job of reading through numerous applications, interviewing incredible students across our service area, and ultimately selecting the scholarship recipients. Every year, these graduating applicants raise the bar with their academic achievements and dedication to lasting community service.”

Eligibility for REV’s scholarship program is based on several criteria, including being a current REV residential customer in good standing and residing within a REV service area. Additional considerations include cumulative GPA, ACT scores, financial need, demonstrated leadership, and community involvement. Applicants are also required to submit an essay as part of the application process.

REV and CoBank contribute $30,000 to three South Louisiana non-profits

Local communications provider and rural America-serving cooperative bank make joint-donation to Cooking in Central, Foundation for Woman’s, and Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation

 Gonzales, La. – REV, a locally owned, communications provider in Southeast Louisiana, recently joined in with CoBank’s annual Sharing Success program to provide $30,000 to three local non-profit organizations making community-specific and lasting impacts in the region.

Each year, CoBank — a cooperative bank serving the nation’s rural economy — matches partners’ donations to support community initiatives across the country. REV recently leveraged this opportunity to double its contributions to three area non-profits, further amplifying their ability to serve local needs and strengthen communities.

Marking 20 years, REV’s Game of the Week expands high school sports coverage to include 30 matchups this football season

In partnership with Varsity Sports Now, REV’s high school football schedule now includes schools from 13 parishes

Gonzales, La. – REV is expanding coverage of Game of the Week to include 10 additional football games for the upcoming season. In partnership with Varsity Sports Now (VSN), REV has a full lineup of exciting matchups each week including schools from 13 parishes across South Louisiana such as Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and West Baton Rouge.

REV earns two Tellys during the 46th Annual Telly Awards
The South Louisiana-based communications provider’s Marketing team was honored with two bronze Tellys for creative campaigns focusing on localism

Gonzales, La. – REV received two bronze Telly Awards for campaigns executed in 2024. The bronze Tellys were awarded to the company’s Marketing team for their campaigns celebrating REV’s 90 years of service. These campaigns highlighted local partnerships by including customers and employees in content that demonstrated their connection to REV’s services.

“This team continues to effectively share real stories of how our residential and business customers positively experience REV’s services across various communities,” said Tressy Leindecker, REV’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. “Earning 10 Telly Awards in the past three years is affirming evidence of the strong partnerships and the collaborative strength among REV’s creatives.”

Since their establishment in 1979, The Telly Awards continue to honor excellence in video and television across all screens. This year, The Telly Awards received over 13,000 entries globally from 6 continents and all 50 states.
