Generating an even split as the top two vote-getters, the decision was made to award grants to Alzheimer\u2019s Services of the Capital Area and Volunteer Ascension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlzheimer\u2019s Services and Charlie\u2019s Place are grateful to the REV employees for their generous contribution and understanding the need for services for the Alzheimer\u2019s affected individuals and their caregivers,\u201d said Barbara Auten, executive director of Alzheimer\u2019s Services of the Capital Area. \u201cAscension Parish people are extremely supportive of Charlie\u2019s Place in Gonzales and we are proud to serve in the community there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are so pleased to have been awarded the very first REVolutionizing Communities Grant from REV,\u201d said Sherry Denig, executive director of Volunteer Ascension. \u201cWhen I was told that we were chosen by a vote of the local REV employees, it was all the sweeter \u2013 thank you to the REV family for investing in our mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a real honor to support these two organizations who have made such a meaningful and enduring impact to our community,\u201d said Josh Descant, CEO of REV\/REV Business. \u201cAnd we\u2019re very proud to empower our local employees to use their voices and votes to guide this level of our community giving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Voting by employees in each of the provider\u2019s three current markets \u2013 Bayou Region (Lafourche Parish, Terrebonne Parish and Grand Isle), River Region (St. James and St. John the Baptist Parishes) and the Capital Region (Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville and Livingston parishes) \u2013 concluded over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, employees residing in the company\u2019s Shreveport\/Bossier market \u2013 where the company\u2019s data center, VENYU, has a presence in addition to a Baton Rouge-based facility \u2013 also had the chance to vote on a selection of local non-profits.<\/p>\n<p>The winner for the River Region \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/childadv.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Child Advocacy Services<\/a> \u2013 was announced earlier this week. Winners from REV\u2019s other markets will be announced later this week.<\/p>\n<p>Alzheimer\u2019s Services of the Capital Area is a local non-profit organization serving the Greater Baton Rouge area by providing education and support programs to those affected by Alzheimer\u2019s disease or dementia.
